Each of us has a story. Within each story we experience feelings of anxiety, fear and sadness. When these feelings become overwhelming, science shows that it helps to talk to a trained counselor. Sharing your story is a hopeful and powerful step in the healing process. Together we can access treatments and techniques that will help you feel better and more able to deal with life's ups and downs.
Here are some common reasons people contact me:
I hold the worldview that we are relational beings, and that we heal best within a safe counseling relationship. I practice interpersonal neurobiology, which focuses on integrating the mind and body by drawing on a variety of scientifically proven techniques. Attachment theory, internal family systems (IFS), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, somatic, narrative and feminist therapies are drawn from to enrich the integration process.
I am a Certified Professional Counselor registered with the Professional Association of Christian Counselors and Psychotherapists (PACCP). With an MA in Counseling from Providence Theological Seminary and training as an IFS-informed therapist, I am ready to help you find a way to move your story forward.
On your first visit we will talk about the process of therapy and your story, history, and goals. We’ll then focus in on your most pressing challenges.
Counseling appointments are available Monday through Friday between 11:00 am and 5:30 pm, with a limited number of evening appointments available by phone or webcam. Individual sessions are 55 minutes at $115.00. Couple sessions are 55 minutes at $145.00.
Backed by the beautiful Red River, the counseling office is located 10 minutes from downtown and is easily accessed by several bus routes. There is free parking in the lot next to the building.
I work from a compassionate, trauma-informed approach to help you navigate your issues and find better ways to deal with life's ups and downs. Whether you are looking for individual or couples counseling, I will work with you to understand your connections with others and help you decide how to move forward in a healthier way.
